Run deep.
Run long.
Run silent.
Run strong.
Just...
RUN.

This is just a cool song and a cool picture. Along about this time of year (winter solstice?) I really start missing the desert. I watch all my home movies of our trips over and over again and start looking at maps and planning...
No. You can't do that. It needs to be illegal to blog desert pics and music and words during the winter doldrums. I can't take the homesickness!!! I can't take the pain of longing for the warmth, peace, comfort, serenity, joy, adventure, the mixture of old and new, the freedom! FREEDOM! Stop it, or I will boycott your blog. (yeah, like THAT would ever happen...)
I could SO go and do the Fiery Furnace again...and it's been awhile since I've seen Escalante....peek-a-boo, Spooky...and if we do spooky again, I promise I won't cry like a baby..well, I'll TRY not too...hey! There's still little wild horse...and the san rafael swell....ah...so many choices... Stop it.
All I have to say is if anyone is planning a trip don't forget to include me!!! Next summer is my turn to have fun. This past summer I had a newborn so my husband had fun for me. The summer before that I was busy with school and setting up a classroom so my fun and Tristan's fun was limited. This summer my child will be over a year old and I'm going to enjoy some freedom of my own!!! Take me with you!
And there is Coyote Gulch, Willow Creek again. There are some canyons in SE Utah we haven't done yet. The loop through Bridges Nat. Monument is a great kid hike, too. I still want to hike the Escalante River from Escalante to Calf Creek.

I couldn't agree more.

LOL (wipe away tears). Hey, WB. Let's plan a trip!

Nicole and I did Arches/Fiery Furnace in January two years ago . . . and that night watched an incredible moonrise from Dead Horse Point.
We camped out in Moab . . .not a good idea when temps were probably single digit or teens.
@Tristan
You guys need a double mammoth sleeping bag, then it doesn't matter how cold it gets outside. ...mammoth sleeping bag....*drool*

please.
Don't forget: after a cold day canyoneering, nothing warms you up like a nice hot spring. :)
We might be doing the fiery furnace on Friday March 7th. Anyone interested? Put it on calendars now.
Beth,
I'm definitely interested. Noted on the calendar, too.
Agreed, I just bought some red rock colored towels for my bathroom. It's like hiking into a little slot canyon, bare foot, every morning.
Seriously
Wildman's bathroom is kind of dark and narrow...
Sounds like we all need to join a support group...oh wait - we have one! ;)
Hm. I must visit this "bathroom canyon." Should I bring a harness?
Hmm..maybe you could do a free rappel off the deck...
Dark and narrow bathrooms, well, I'll stand Dreampacker's next to anyones.

Nicoletta, I'll take you if no one else will.
